FAQs

Are there any age restrictions?

Our minimum age is 4 years. There is no upper age limit as long as you are fit enough to take part. We don’t take unaccompanied under 18’s on our trail rides.

Is there a weight limit?

Our weight limit is around 16stone. This is dependant on riding experience and rider fitness.

What equipment do I need?

Please wear long trousers and sturdy shoes with a small heel. We have hats for you to borrow which are free of charge. You are welcome to ride in your own hat as long as it meets current standards.

Do I need to be able to ride to go on the beach rides?

Not at all, we are happy to take out all abilities on our beach rides.

Are there beach rides every day?

Generally, there is at least 1 beach ride each day. The times change daily due to tide times – you will need to book in plenty of time.

What information do you need when booking?

We will need your height, weight (age if a child), previous riding experience and a contact telephone number. All this information will help us select the most suitable horse for you.

How soon before the ride is due to leave do I need to arrive?

We ask our customers to arrive 15/20 mins prior to ride time. This gives enough time to complete necessary paperwork, fit hats and mount ready for the short assessment in the arena before leaving the yard.

What sort of horses do you have?

We have 14 horses and ponies who are mainly sensible cob types ranging from 11hh to 16hh. We have a number of coloured cobs and even one from Lithuania! They are all gentle and well mannered who will happily take the novice rider safely along the beach – they are also more than happy to have a gallop when required!

How can I pay?

We accept cash, cheque with bankers card and most credit and debit cards. Payment is made on arrival at the yard.

How do I book?

By phone, by email or in person. Please see our how to book page for more information.

Do you accept groups?

We happily accept large groups and are approved activity providers for Lancs County Council. Booking needs to be made early to avoid disappointment.
