Meet the Horses (and other animals)

LAURA 16.2hh shire x TB mare. Laura is now enjoying her retirement with long days in the field. She still keeps an eye on the other horses and loves a good groom.

ANGELO (JOE) 15.3hh Black and White heavyweight cob gelding. Angelo, otherwise known as Joe is a real fun horse to ride. He loves the opportunity to have a gallop, but will look after the most nervous of rider. He is so comfortable to ride, it's like sitting in an armchair! Very sure footed, he goes on all of our Trail Rides. He is very laid back, reliable and steady.

TOMAHAWK (TOM) 15.2hh Brown and White cob gelding. Tom is a striking looking horse with one brown and one blue eye. He will look after the most nervous of rider - but be ready for a gallop if you want to. Tom also leads all the trail rides - he is brave and a big adventurer!

FATHER TED 15.2hh Bright Bay Irish cob gelding. Ted is a real character (rather like the one he is named after!!). He snores really loudly and likes a lie in in the mornings!. Ted has the most loveable nature - everyone falls in love with him. He is suitable for novice and experienced riders, being both reliable and laid back, but with a real turn of speed when the opportunity arises!!

APACHE 15.3hh Skewbald Irish cob gelding. Apache has a very laid back nature and takes everything in his stride. He is a pleasure to ride and will look after the most nervous of riders but be ready for a gallop if needed.

TILLY 15hh palamino heavyweight cob mare. Tilly is originally from Lithuania. She is calm, gentle and a real confidence giver. She enjoys nothing more than a gallop on the beach and also takes part in all the trail rides.

FALLON 14.2hh black and white cob. Very pretty mare with blue eyes - in fact, with her long flowing mane and blue eyes she is rather like a Barbie Doll. Fallon is very reliable and gentle. Loves a good gallop on the beach, has also been known to climb a few mountains as she takes part in trail rides.

STANLEY 14.1hh black cob gelding. A relative newcomer to Murthwaite Green, Stanley has settled in well. He especially enjoys beach rides and is suitable for all abilities.

JAZZ 14.1hh chestnut welsh cob mare. An experienced trekking pony great for beginners or experienced riders. She is great for lessons and loves going on the beach - a real confidence giver and very comfortable!!

BRAMBLE 14.2hh Black fell x gelding. Bramble is a real confidence giver who really enjoys going on on rides. He is suitable for all abilities and is working well in the school.

JACK 14hh brown cob gelding. Jack is an enjoyable ride both for novice and experienced riders. He is steady and sensible with a very loving nature.

PINTO 13.2hh skewbald gelding. A real character and a firm favourite with all customers. Pinto is a real fun pony who loves nothing more than a canter on the beach. He will instill confidence in the most nervous of rider with his gentle nature.

JAMIE 11hh dapple grey welsh mountain pony gelding. Jamie is one of the longstanding members of Murthwaite Green and is well known for his cheeky nature. He is a real character who loves taking children out on rides.

EBONY 10hh black shetland x mare. Ebony is the latest addition to the stables and although she is only young and still in training, her gentle and laid back nature is sure to make her a firm favourite at Murthwaite Green.

POPPY very small shetland yealing filly. Poppy came along with Ebony and they are firm friends. It will be a while before Poppy is working at Murthwaite but in the meantime she loves being groomed and taken for walks.

Other Animals!!

ECHO White German Shepherd Bitch. Echo has been the family pet for over 6 years, she loves being out on as a yard dog. Echo is very friendly and loves people and attention; so is at her happiest when the yard is busy and full!!

Storm Grey female cat. Lives here on the yard, usually to be found in the hay loft - never goes too far in case she misses out on any food - will usually be spotted on the first rustle of a sandwich bag!!

MAYA Alaskan Malamute bitch. Maya is a real character and well known on the yard. She will do anything for a treat but sometimes has to be kept tied up as she has a bit of a wandering nature!!!
