About Us

The centre is managed by Cath Wrigley BET Centre Manager, who has many years experience of working with horses. All rides are escorted by BHS and BET qualified staff who all hold their Riding & Road Safety certificates, are qualified first aiders and have undertaken BHS Child Protection Training. As our guides are all specially trained for the industry, you will always feel comfortable and confident whilst in their care. They are all long serving employees of Murthwaite Green so know the rides and the horses very well! They are helpful, professional, friendly and always ready for a good chat.

Cath Wrigley
Cath manages the centre which she established along with her husband Phil in 2002. She has had many years experience working in the horse industry and has owned and competed horses all her life. She holds her BET Centre Managers Certificate and BHS Stage III, she is also a NVQ level II Assessor, qualified first aider and Riding & Road Safety Trainer. Cath is currently working towards the Monty Roberts Preliminary Certificate in Horsemanship and is a firm advocate of the Mary Wanless 'Ride with Your Mind' methods of teaching and learning.

Vicki Gregson
Vicki is our Head Girl and Ride Leader and has been with us since leaving school in 2005. Initially undertaking her apprenticeship and gaining her NVQ II qualification, she then went on to join us as a permanent member of staff. She has since gained both her BHS Stage I and her BET Ride Leader qualification. She is first aid certified and holds her Riding & Road Safety Certificate. Vicki is an experienced and confident ride leader who regularly leads the longer trail rides and trains the less experienced staff members.

Emma Garnett
Emma is currently on an Equine Apprenticeship and works full time at Murthwaite Green as a Ride Leader whilst she studies towards futher qualifications. Emma started with us as a Pony Club Member in 2004 before joining us as a weekend helper. She has since gained her BHS Stage II and her Assistant Ride Leader qualification.  She is first aid certified and holds her Riding & Road Safety Certificate. Emma knows all the horses extremely well and will look after the most nervous of rider.

Bryonie Phillips
Bryonie has recently started on an apprenticeship and works 4 days per week at Murthwaite Green as a Groom and Trainee Ride Leader whilst she studies towards futher qualifications. Bryonie knows all the horses extremely well and will ensure that both horse and rider are happy and well suited.

Lauren Sharp
Lauren is a part time ride leader, mainly working at weekends and during the busier holiday periods. Lauren started with us as a Pony Club Member in 2003 before joining us as a weekend helper. She has recently gained her Assistant Ride Leader qualification.  She is first aid certified and holds her Riding & Road Safety Certificate. Lauren knows all the horses inside out, she is calm and instills confidence in all her customers.

Sally Carter
Sally is one of our invaluable volunteers who along with her husband Clive part own Sparkle & Apache. Sally & Clive help out at weekends and whenever else they can. Sally has recently gained her Assistant Ride Leader Certificate, is a qualified first aider and also holds her Riding & Road Safety Certificate. She is a confident and experienced guide who has helped out on the longer trail rides and knows all the horses extremely well. She is also very knowledgeable about the area and will ensure that you enjoy your experience.
